Trainees Committee representative – South London
Dr Hatty Douthwaite is a renal and general medicine trainee in the South Thames Deanery.
She is currently out of programme completing a PhD in immunology and microbial science research at King’s College London and is returning to clinical practice in general internal medicine and as the chief registrar at King’s College Hospital in September 2022.
Dr Douthwaite was elected as a Trainees Committee representative in June 2022.
She has worked less than full time (LTFT) previously between 2018–22, has taken two periods of statutory leave and has accessed the SuppoRTT scheme in preparation for returning to clinical work.
Through these experiences, Dr Douthwaite is particularly interested in supporting trainees to undertake out-of-programme endeavours in addition to improving the experience for LTFT trainees and in supporting those returning to work after periods away.
