Charitable aims

As a registered charity, the Royal College of Physicians uses charitable support to fund research, training and conserve our heritage collections – all in the aim of improving health.

Legacies and donations from members and individuals provide an essential source of income.

Donate today

We are partnering with the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians in Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In these countries, the shortage of well-trained doctors – as few as one per 160,000 people in Malawi – is causing daily suffering and needless loss of life.

Our goal is to double the output of physicians being trained in this region by 2030.

We care for books, manuscripts, artworks and objects of international significance. Our collections relate to key figures in the history of medicine and reveal what physicians used to think and do, and how this has evolved over time.

Your support will help the RCP to undertake ambitious conservation projects across its collections and share these with the public through exhibitions.

Gifts of this kind allow us the flexibility to respond quickly when faced with urgent funding needs, both now and in the future.

You can choose to make your gift to any of our fundraising priorities.
