The RCP, NHS England and the University of London are proud of what has been achieved with the current Gender Identity Healthcare credentials and have taken much learning from this.
This success will be built upon with new educational programmes suited to current workforce needs, comprising work-based learning and assessment integrated with clinical work.
In the coming months, the RCP will develop and launch its new Gender Identity Healthcare Professional Certificates, for clinicians working in adult services supporting patients aged 17 and over. As before, this will enable clinicians to develop the specialised knowledge they need and offer service users, professionals, employers and the public confidence that clinicians working in the field of gender identity health are appropriately trained and competent.
