This 1-day interactive workshop is designed to facilitate a return to teaching by updating and refreshing your knowledge of effective, learner-centred education. It will enable you to build on your skills and knowledge to deliver up-to-date, evidence-informed teaching.

Through peer discussion and focused activities, you will explore developments in medical education, evaluate your existing skills and ensure your teaching is effective, practical and evidence-based to support learners today. 

What will you learn?

This interactive, 1-day workshop is designed to support senior doctors who wish to return to teaching and update their skills, underpinned by an evidence-based approach that aligns with the current needs and structures of medical education in the UK.

This course will enable senior doctors to:

  • Understand and apply different teaching methods and effective learning strategies
  • Critically evaluate learning theory and research evidence to inform educational practice
  • Develop a toolkit of practical teaching methods
  • Enhance their practical teaching skills and support student-centred learning
  • Have opportunities to network with other senior doctors and medical educators
