Mentor Skills - Wales - 19 November 2025
This half day workshop is a commissioned event organised by NHS Wales and is for selected delegates only.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Define the role of a mentor and understand the difference between a coach and a mentor.
- Consider the skills and qualities of an effective mentor.
- Outline the basic principles of a successful mentoring relationship.
- Discuss the stages of the GROW model and apply the model in practice.
- Reflect on your own personal development needs as a mentor.
By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
- identify the role of a mentor and mentee
- outline the basic structure of a successful mentoring relationship
- use appropriate techniques, including objective setting and reviewing, to establish and sustain an effective mentoring relationship
- recognise the challenges that can arise in mentoring relationships
- reflect on your own personal development needs as a mentor and mentee.
