RCP invited reviews: Helping resolve complex challenges in clinical medicine 2026
Maverick, pioneer, troublemaker or whistleblower?
Medical directors often find themselves navigating uncertainty, challenge and resistance, while balancing organisational priorities, professional standards and patient safety.
Using recent reviews as examples, join other medical directors and the RCP invited reviews team as we share insights exploring the realities of leading change, challenging poor practice, restoring dysfunctional teams and maintaining quality in complex healthcare environments.
We look forward to welcoming delegates to this free 1-day event on Friday 20 November 2026. This is a full day event. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please note we require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cater for specific dietary requirements.
Please note this is an in-person event. We are unable to provide online access.
What are invited reviews?
RCP invited reviews offer independent, external advice to healthcare organisations across the UK. If you are concerned about any of the following in your organisation, we can help:
- Delivery of care or patient safety issues
- Increased mortality or national data ‘red flags’
- Adherence to national guidelines
- Workload and capacity issues
- Individual behaviours/team working
- Governance, mergers, working in smaller or isolated hospitals
'Varied, interesting speakers bringing their experiences to a receptive audience.'
'Listening to the patient viewpoint, understanding the challenges faced in single handed specialties.'
'I thought this was a really excellent event. Thoughtful and thought-provoking presentations delivered by colleagues and a lay representative who have "done the do" from jobbing clinicians and MDs to national experts.'
