Do you want to help shape the future of healthcare?
Future Healthcare Journal (FHJ), one of the journals of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), publishes a broad variety of peer-reviewed papers concerning all aspects of our future healthcare, from future treatments, workforce planning and healthcare leadership to sustainability and digital health. This is an exciting time for the journal as it expands its global reach with publishing partner Elsevier.
FHJ is seeking to further globalise its multidisciplinary editorial board and is interested in hearing from physicians working outside the UK in any specialty. Experience in publishing is not essential and we champion diversity and inclusion.
Associate editors contribute to managing the assessment and peer review of submitted papers as well as helping to develop the journal’s strategy, advocating for the journal and supporting relevant themed issues. The appointment is for an initial 2-year term, renewable by mutual agreement up to a total of 6 years.
Service on the editorial board is an enjoyable and rewarding complement to clinical duties, and there is a warm and supportive collaboration with the editor-in-chief, other board members and RCP staff.
Expressions of interest, comprising a brief supporting statement together with a CV, are requested by Sunday 1 November 2026 to FHJ@rcp.ac.uk
