The 2025 Lady Estelle Wolfson lecture will be delivered by Professor Coziana Ciurtin.
This lecture will explore the urgent need for improved identification and management of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in children and young people with autoimmune rheumatic diseases, focusing on juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE). It will present current best practices for clinical evaluation of CVD risk in JSLE, highlight novel biomarkers discovered and patented through a major clinical trial comparing atorvastatin and placebo, and discuss how these findings align with the priorities of international JSLE experts and patient communities. The session will also consider implications for future policy and tailored interventions.
History of the Lady Estelle Wolfson lecture
The lecture was founded by a gift from Lady Estelle Wolfson in 2015. It supports a lecture delivered by a member or fellow on translational research or medicine with demonstrable benefit to patients.
Virtual attendance
The Lady Estelle Wolfson lecture is free and virtual access is open to all. If you have colleagues, family or friends interested in attending, please direct them here to book their place.
