Harveian Oration 2026 (in-person – oration only)
The Harveian Oration is one of the oldest and most significant events in the RCP calendar.
The Harveian Oration was established in 1656 by William Harvey (1578–1657). Each year, the RCP continues the tradition by inviting a leading doctor or scientist to speak on issues relating to their field of work.
We are delighted to announce that this year, Professor Bee Wee CBE MAEd PhD FRCP FRCGP SFFMLM HonDSc, will deliver the Oration titled ‘Palliative medicine: coming of age’.
This event is open to all and is free of charge.
Please note that fellows who have booked in advance may join the annual dinner after the Oration. Please refer to the Dinner queries tab for further information.

- Dinner bookings are available strictly to fellows only.
- Dinner bookings are subject to a payment of £110 per ticket.
- Dinner bookings will close on Friday 9 October 2026 unless capacity is reached earlier.
- Dinner guests must adhere to a dress code: black tie/evening wear, and decorations will be worn.
