Professor Shahedal Bari FRCP. FAcadMed. MA(UK)
Professor Bari is member of educator faculty at RCP, honorary clinical professor at Lancaster University, non executive director at East Lancashire NHS Trust (non voting), experienced past executive director and responsible officer in the UK with board level experience with a multisite trust and served as director of medical education, a rare blend of academic and healthcare leadership.
He is a board member at RCP Federation UK (National CCT SCE board, co-chair of respiratory CCT question writer group). He continues to provide support for colleagues and learners as a senior clinician. He is also a PACES examiner and takes part in under graduate and post graduate assessment and quality control of medical education.
He drove changes through compassionate leadership in UHMBT in his successful stint as executive medical director during COVID and led the work on pathways and clinical prioritisation to successfully drive the COVID response. He is principal investigator for RECOVERY trail for COVID.
He is the chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria lung cancer network site specific group (CRG) and driving cancer care forward for the region.
