What we are doing
The eight Future Hospital development sites were selected to put the principles of the future hospital into practice. Four sites are working to improve the care of frail and older people and four are focused on implementing successful integrated care models to support varied cohorts of patients.
The Future Hospital Programme (FHP) works closely with selected development sites to put the principles of the future hospital into practice. The FHP works with multidisciplinary teams of clinical staff, nursing, social care and patients on discrete projects aligned to the vision and recommendations outlined in the Future Hospital Commission report.
The FHP provides:
- access to quality improvement expertise
- advice for effective data collection and evaluation
- support for effectively implementing and evaluating new ways of working.
The lessons learned by each of the development sites will be collated and shared with the NHS to support the spread of good practice.
