Navigating the Portfolio Pathway (CESR route)

The 'Navigating the Portfolio Pathway' workshop offers practical advice and guidance for doctors of all specialties who are considering applying specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).

Workshop includes

presentation and Q&A session on the application process from the GMC's specialist applications team
RCP clinical teaching faculty experienced in the portfolio pathway application process
up-to-date facts and statistics on application success rates

What you will learn

By the end of this workshop doctors will be able to:

Recognise the importance of developing and maintaining an individual portfolio
Augment your knowledge of the Portfolio pathway application process
Appreciate the overlap between the Portfolio pathway and revalidation
Identify the evidence that is needed for the Portfolio pathway
Understand how workplace-based assessments may be used to demonstrate equivalence to IMT and specialty curricula
Appreciate the importance of setting objectives
Set your own personal objectives relating to the Portfolio pathway

Who should apply?

This intensive one-day course is aimed primarily at internationally trained doctors who have recently arrived to work in the UK and are applying for specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).

The 'Navigating the Portfolio Pathway' workshop offers practical advice and guidance for doctors of all specialties who are considering applying specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).

I was especially glad of the update to the new PP (vs old CESR) system, and I was prompted to study the latest version of my SSG. I am pleased to note the new system seems a lot more user friendly and somewhat less daunting than the old.
