The Dwyer-Hart RCP Medical Research project

The Dwyer-Hart RCP Medical Research project has been established through the generous support of the Dwyer-Hart Medical Research charity (CIO) to support impactful research and create a lasting legacy for patient benefit.

This grant forms part of a wider Dwyer-Hart RCP Medical Research Programme being developed in partnership with the RCP to support clinician-led, translational research that bridges scientific discovery and real-world healthcare delivery.

About the project

The Dwyer-Hart RCP Medical Research project offers:

  • Up to £60,000 research funding
  • Support for a 12-month project
  • Additional 6 months for final reporting.

In addition, the grant holder will receive:

  • Complimentary registration for one RCP Annual Conference
  • An invitation to meet representatives of the Dwyer-Hart Medical Research CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) 
  • An expectation to submit a poster or platform abstract to the RCP Annual Conference following project completion.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a collegiate member or fellow of the RCP (Successful applicants who are not yet members must join prior to grant commencement)
  • Be based at a UK academic or clinical institution
  • Have confirmed institutional support and a named supervisor
  • Have a PhD.

Applications in all areas of health and medicine will be considered; however, projects should enable research that bridges science and patient care and have a tangible health impact.

Criteria

Applications are welcome from across all areas of health and medicine. Projects should:

  • Bridge the translational gap between laboratory science and patient‑facing care
  • Show a credible pathway to tangible health impact.
