Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the introduction of the new PACES examination, originally scheduled for 2020, had to be delayed. We are pleased to confirm that the new format (also previously referred to as PACES23) has now been introduced from the third Diet of 2023*.
The new format of the examination tests the same clinical skills, and there are still five stations. However, some of the encounters have changed. Such changes in the new carousel were implemented to improve the validity and reliability of this clinical examination. Please find detailed information as well as training materials for both candidates and examiners available on the MRCP(UK) website.

*PACES23 will be introduced for candidates sitting in Singapore from early 2024.
