A team of representatives from the RCP, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow has delivered two training courses aimed at supporting junior doctors preparing to take the MRCP(UK) PACES exam in Yangon.
A total of 63 trainees attended the courses, which were organised by representatives from the three colleges in collaboration with the University of Medicine 1 and Yangon General Hospital.
The courses, the fifth and sixth of their kind to be run in Burma/Myanmar, were both two days in length, with the focus of the first day on communication skills (topics inc. history taking and breaking bad news) and candidates rotating around several clinical stations on day 2.
