Innovation in Medicine 2018: RCP and Janssen partner to promote wellbeing of medical patients with mental health issues

Both organisations have a track record in supporting the identification and management of medical patients with mental health issues, and ensuring their needs are met as part of delivering holistic patient care. As the RCP’s annual flagship conference, Innovation in Medicine 2018 is the ideal platform to educate and inform physicians about best practice in this vital area of healthcare.

Mental health

The RCP and Janssen will be jointly presenting a session on mental health at the 2-day event, and with over 1,500 physicians expected to register, it will be sure to attract a wide audience. The conference also includes sessions on the mental health and wellbeing of physicians themselves.

RCP president Professor Jane Dacre said:

As the RCP broadens its remit to work with industry partners on improving patient care, I am delighted that having Janssen as a key partner will enhance our conference and our delegates’ experience and support the dovetailing of physical and mental health care across the NHS.

Dr Frank Wiegand, medical director, Janssen UK & Ireland added:

At Janssen, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, we are proud of delivering transformational medical innovation for patients in need. Physicians play a key role in advancing pharmaceutical science both within our company and through our external partnerships and collaborations. We are excited to support the RCP as the first headline partner for the quincentenary event in 2018.

Innovation in Medicine 2018 takes place at Excel, London 25-26 June 2018. The full conference programme is now available
