An RCP team led by Dr Steve Jones (Associate International Director for the Asia Pacific region) travelled to Yangon last month to run two training courses aimed at supporting junior doctors preparing to take the MRCP(UK) PACES exam.
The training courses, a collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, were split across two days - the first focusing on communication skills and the second on clinical skills. A total of 75 doctors attended.
The next course takes place in February 2016.
Medical Training Initiative interviews
The RCP team also held interviews for the Medical Training Initiative at Yangon’s University of Medicine 1 on 12 October.
12 doctors were accepted onto the scheme which enables international medical graduates to undertake a 24 month training fellowship in the UK - two of whom will take up their new posts with UK trusts in January.
