Presidential statement to launch registration for the virtual Medicine 2021

Following discussions with my senior officers and in the context of the current COVID-19 landscape, we have now made the decision that Medicine 2021 in January will be an all virtual conference.

Our aim, as it was when we postponed our conference from April, is always to protect people’s health. As I said then and it applies equally now, it simply wouldn’t be sensible to bring together hundreds of doctors from all over the UK and other countries.

Over the last few months we have all experienced the educational benefit of virtual conferences and meetings, and although I will miss the camaraderie of seeing you all in person, we will still be able to mount a superb learning opportunity. The conference will have over 100 speakers, poster presentations, networking opportunities and many of the features of the traditional conference. It will remain a meeting of medical minds and I hope to ‘see’ you there.
