Professor Margaret Johnson elected academic vice president

As the academic vice president, Professor Johnson’s responsibilities include enhancing academic activity in the UK among physicians as well as being in charge of the academic programme here at the RCP.

Professor Johnson currently works at the Royal Free Hospital as a consultant in thoracic medicine and HIV medicine. She is the research lead for the Royal Free HIV unit and has followed a cohort of over 5,000 patients over 20 years. Her work has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and she has published on many HIV related topics. She has also published on many areas of respiratory disease including; interstitial lung disease, hypersensitivity, pneumonitis, tuberculosis and respiratory infections.

Professor Johnson replaces Professor John Wass and will be in post for 3 years.
