RCP journals now available in PubMed Central

PMC has been designed to provide permanent access to all of its content, even as technology evolves and current digital literature formats potentially become obsolete. PMC was launched in 2000 by the US National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. It includes only peer-reviewed journals that meet strict entry criteria.

Inclusion of ClinMed and Future Healthcare Journal content in PMC, back to the first issue of both journals, provides readers with greater access to valuable scholarly content. The journals benefit from integration of their full-text content with PubMed citations and the increased exposure that this brings. Online views of ClinMed articles have doubled since the journal launched on PMC in January 2019.

This is a great step forward. Being findable on PMC serves many agendas: it is a big advantage for authors, it makes finding articles easier for the reader, and it contributes to a worldwide network of science.

Dr Anton Emmanuel, editor-in-chief of ClinMed

Dr Anton Emmanuel, editor-in-chief of ClinMed, said: ‘This is a great step forward. Being findable on PMC serves many agendas: it is a big advantage for authors, it makes finding articles easier for the reader, and it contributes to a worldwide network of science. For a forward looking journal looking at innovations in service delivery this is excellent news'.

A further benefit of inclusion in PMC is that the journal content is now part of a permanent and freely accessible archive, managed by the National Library of Medicine. The RCP can request and receive a copy of our archived content at any time. Providing reassurance that our scholarly content will remain freely available through the evolution of technology and formats, and changes in third-party suppliers.

The recent inclusion of Future Healthcare Journal in PMC reflects the growing success of the journal, its high-quality articles, and the diversity and excellence of the editorial board and authors. PMC indexing provides greater exposure and scientific validation for the journal, and greater access for healthcare professionals to its thought-provoking articles about the future of healthcare.

The Future Healthcare Journal seeks the widest possible audience to have the widest possible debate about our future.

Dr Kevin Fox, the interim editor-in-chief of Future Healthcare Journal

Dr Kevin Fox, the interim editor-in-chief of Future Healthcare Journal, said: ‘The Future Healthcare Journal seeks the widest possible audience to have the widest possible debate about our future. Visibility on PMC is a key step forward in fulfilling this mission'.
