The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is seeking an associate international director (college officer) to oversee the Medical Training Initiative: an ambitious and expanding programme which enables junior doctors from all over the world to work and train in an NHS trust for up to 2 years.
This 4-year post offers a unique opportunity to build upon the success of the RCP’s Medical Training Initiative (MTI). The MTI team works to support both international doctors who have already identified a suitable post in the UK, and also those who are looking for a placement.
The associate international director for international medical graduates will:
- work with the head of international affairs and the MTI programme manager to design, implement, monitor and evaluate a 4-year MTI strategy aimed at increasing the number of MTI participants
- advise and support the MTI team on all clinical aspects of all applications and posts
- promote the MTI in the UK and overseas, acting as an ambassador and advocate for the RCP
- lead overseas interviews
- liaise with host trusts, working to resolve concerns and disputes when they occur.
This is an honorary position which will involve international travel.
