This is an interim data quality report for the IBD community and Chief Executives of Health Boards and Trusts throughout the UK to inform of the ongoing progress and development of the biologics audit along with a view of engagement to date. The audit opened for data entry on Monday 12 September 2011 and these interim findings are based on data that have been submitted to the audit up to and including 29 February 2012, providing a 6 month snapshot of data entry and progress report.

The UK Inflammatory Bowel Disease Audit 1st Round demonstrated a marked variation in the resources and quality of care for IBD patients across the UK with particular deficits in some fundamental aspects of IBD care. Following dissemination of results, change implementation was supported by a series of regional meetings, a web based document repository and selected hospital visits.The second round of the audit in autumn 2008 assessed changes to the organisation and processes of IBD care following these interventions.
