In this video, consultant rheumatologist Dr Aicha Bouraoui is joined by dietitian, Salma Mehar to discuss the importance of coproduction, multidisciplinary team working and patient involvement in the management of diabetes in children and young people.

Dr Aicha Bouraoui is a rheumatology consultant at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. She is a content adviser for Medical Care – driving change, a Core 20PLUS5 ambassador and an accredited health coach.
A Specialist Dietitian working in the field of community health and wellbeing for over 20 years in the NHS. Salma is a Core20plus ambassador addressing health inequalities. Salma Mehar is also the co-author of “World Food Book” by Carbs and Cals, which is the first visual carbohydrate awareness resource for ethnic communities.
Her role has extended working across the globe with various communities and charities teaching and developing educational tools and resources led to winning many awards nationally for addressing health inequalities.
