Since its introduction into the UK clinical practice in 1992 by Professor Michael Maisey, PET, followed by positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT), has become a key multimodality molecular imaging technique in the assessment of a wide range of medical conditions. Now in its fourth edition, this 2022 document provides updated indications with key references underpinning the use of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) and non-FDG PET-CT tracers in malignant and non-malignant diseases in clinical practice.
