RCP’s Future Hospital Programme receives award for care innovation

LaingBuisson's healthcare intelligence award for innovation in care was in recognition of the sterling work of the programme in supporting healthcare improvements across a number of hospitals in England and Wales.

Judges recognised the valuable contribution of the FHP in developing good practice, through supporting clinical innovation at eight hospital-based projects, four of which are focused on improving access to care for frail, elderly patients.

The success of the FHP chief registrar scheme, and its work in developing healthcare leadership, also contributed to the award.

The award was announced at a ceremony in London earlier this week, which was hosted by the writer and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth and attended by 800 guests.

RCP clinical vice president David Oliver said:

The Future Hospital Programme is working closely with a number of clinicians to design innovative new services that improve patient care. The programme is demonstrating the value of delivering care in new integrated and person-centred ways. It is also equipping junior doctors with leadership skills through the FHP’s chief registrar programme.

It’s fantastic that the amazing work from all the dedicated medical teams involved in the programme has been recognised with this award.
