Building your NHS career: next steps for international medical graduates
The RCP are pleased to host an online webinar aimed at International Medical Graduates (IMG's) in their first few years of NHS experience. The webinar will introduce attendees to the various options for postgraduate training in the UK, tips for building a comprehensive portfolio and how to make the most from your supervisor.
We hope that by the end of this webinar participants will feel have a clearer understanding of NHS career progression routes and greater confidence in navigating their professional development within the system.
Upon successful completion of the entire webinar, participants will receive a certificate of attendance with 2 CPD points.

Who should attend?
International medical graduates (IMGs) in their first few years of their NHS careers/experience interested in learning more about available career pathway options and how to accelerate and enhance their postgraduate training experience.
Dr Jess Michael
Dr Jess Michael is a resident doctor in the third year of Internal Medical Training within the Severn Deanery. She is currently working at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Jess has previously spent two years as an IMT Trainee Representative for the Severn deanery, helping to improve the regional programme and acting as a link between trainees and the Training Programme Directors and School of Medicine.
Jess played a leading role in the production of a National IMT resource - ‘All about IMT - Video Podcasts’ available on the E-learning for Health website, which focus on the specifics of IMT curriculum requirements and how to manage a training portfolio.
Dr Trusha Kolke
Dr Trusha Kolke is a Specialty Trainee Registrar (ST3) in Haematology within the Severn Deanery. She is currently working at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Trusha lead the development of an induction programme for international medical graduates (IMGs) and Medical Support Workers (MSWs) to help boost confidence and familiarity before starting their journey within the NHS.
Trusha designed and organised a teaching programme for IMGs covering commonly encountered medical and ethical topics.
Trusha acted as an interviewee and facilitator in the Welcome to UK Practice Workshop, co-hosted by the GMC and HEE Southwest.
