Clinical editor, Commentary

Are you a physician with a passion for medical publishing and strategic leadership? The RCP is seeking a clinical editor for Commentary, our flagship membership magazine.

About the role

As clinical editor, you’ll shape the editorial direction of Commentary, horizon-scanning and networking widely to develop thought-provoking articles for our diverse membership. You’ll chair the Commentary advisory group, work closely with editorial staff and senior colleagues, and collaborate with RCP departments to maximise the magazine’s impact.

You’ll also play a key role in developing our online platform, promoting the magazine as a member benefit, and representing Commentary at conferences and medical events.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified doctor and current RCP member or fellow
  • Strong collaborative leadership and excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of the RCP’s role in UK and international medicine
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Interest in digital publishing and innovation.

Desirable

Previous experience writing or editing for a medical audience.

Location: UK (remote)
Commitment: Approx 4 hours per week
Tenure: 3 years (with possible extension)
Remuneration: Voluntary (eligible expenses reimbursed).
