Frequently asked questions
You are eligible to become an associate member of the RCP if you have not yet passed the MRCP(UK) exam but are at one of the following career grades:
- medical student
- foundation doctor: FY1 or FY2
- internal medical trainee: IMT years 1–3
- staff/trust grade post holder
- locum consultant
- honorary contract holder
- specialty and associate specialist (SAS) doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, clinical fellows, and locum consultants before passing the MRCP(UK) exam
- advanced clinical practitioner: working or training in acute medicine or within medical specialties (UK only).
International physicians who have not passed the MRCP(UK) exam can qualify for associate membership.
